INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

AB Plants designs and constructs electric systems for the industrial sector for energy distribution and equipment control in automatic plants.

The expertise in the automation sector was also developed from the experience gained in management of the AB industrial pole and in the new integrated engineering centre AB has created as synergic production entity. The team appointed to study new technologies for the realisation of automation systems works with a vision whose operational base is the systemic interaction between the customers' expectations and the existing technological scenario, aimed at optimisation of the results. The design is completely handled by the AB team according to a consolidated methodology that begins with analysis of the production process and the existing site, followed by assessment of the technical and functional requirements of the plant, and finishes with determination of the system operating logic and project validation, identifying the ideal dimensioning of the power, drive and control systems.

Thermal generators Lighting Underfloor heating Painting

An example of industrial automation is implemented at AB itself. Below is the data referring to management of the industrial pole and engineering:
- Air treatment unit (ATU) machines
- Treatment of air coming into the offices by means of pressure, temperature and humidity control. Automatic recovery of return air from the offices for preheating. Control of filter clogging and position of air duct gate valves. Air/water heating element temperature control. Thermal room
– Temperature and flow rate control on each branch from the main manifold. Delivery temperature regulation. Main manifold pressure control. Cold thermal machine automatic start management (absorbers and chillers). Absorber circuit control (hot and cold thermal and tower water). Access control
- Door control by means of identification badges and access times. Lighting
– The internal lighting control system allows the user to individually set which ceiling lights to turn on for each light point. Possibility of turning on a set of lights created by the supervision system. Automatic switching off at the time set and total switching off manually when the employees leave. The external lighting is time-controlled with a twilight sensor. Domer windows
– Automatic closure with signal from rain/wind control unit. Automatic opening and closing at set times during the day. Thermal station
– Full generator and thermal utility control. Automatic generator activation and deactivation based on user requests. Continuous calculation of energy required and generated. Remote start control and drive of the double-ramp boiler. Office heating and sanitary water accumulation control. Absorber
– Cold utility remote control. Automatic absorber start in the summer season to cool the offices. Underfloor heating
– Room temperature control thanks to control of the 24 underfloor heating areas. Delivery temperature control to the floor area with climatic curve and room temperature correction PID. Painting – Paint shop ventilation system and washing control
– Cabin pressure and temperature control in relation to the phase requested. Internal cabin lighting control. Control of air heating elements and positioning of air duct valves. Cabin washing tower and external tank level control. Distribution panel switches
– Distribution switch opening and closing coil control. Automatic control at set times during the day or manually on request of the supervision system. Display of switch status and network data at delivery point. Switch opening and closing in steps to reduce pickup currents on the control coils. Miscellaneous
– Drain pump and sewer relaunch control. Well pump control for autoclave filling with internal pressure control. Control of technical gas cylinders and gas valve opening at set times during the day. Control of proper functioning of compressors and air dryer. Entrance gate control at set times during the day. Air exchange machine control at set times during the day.
