The new AB engineering pole, opened in 2010, includes about 100 people – engineers, technicians and industry experts. It represents the most important cogeneration "think tank" in Europe.

The various multidisciplinary teams making up its framework define and plan the building of all the parts of the plant (hydraulics, electric, mechanical and process), developing a specific work protocol to which the production departments will refer.
Engineering activities are conducted in conjunction with the "offer engineering" team, charged with drawing up and presenting to the customer a detailed and convincing technical-economic feasibility plan, especially when the need exists for functional integration with already-existing technologies.
Project development, up to plant installation, is done by specialists who act as links between AB and the customer and ensure stringent compliance with contractual terms.
