A COMBUSTIBLE OF NATURAL ORIGINS WITH AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE VOCATION

Biogas is produced by anaerobic digestion, which is a biochemical conversion process occurring in the absence of oxygen, at the right temperatures, and with continuous mixing.

It consists in the demolition by microorganisms of complex organic substances (proteins, carbohydrates and lipids) contained in plants, mud, and animal origin by-products.

Biogas is primarily made up of methane gas (50/70%), and, secondarily, by carbon dioxide and other minor components. Biogas is then treated in a way that it can power the endothermic engine of a cogeneration plant and produce, at the end of the process, totally renewable electrical and thermal energy.

“Anaerobic digestion and biogas: a completely natural process for production of renewable energy.”
